In 2018, the Bibles for America Blog has continued to grow in readership. We have over 29,000 subscribers, and the blog has been visited more than 820,000 times this year. We’re so thankful to Lord for this way of reaching people with God’s Word.
We’d like to share with you the top five posts from this year. We hope you can find a little time to read and enjoy them.
1. 8 Verses that Show Jesus Christ Lives in You
In 2 Corinthians 13:5, the apostle Paul asks the Corinthian believers a question:
“Or do you not realize about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?”
When we were regenerated, Jesus Christ came to live in us. He’s no longer merely outside of us; He actually dwells within us. While many passages in the New Testament tell us Christ lives in us, in this post we focus on eight wonderful verses. We discuss why knowing Christ lives in us is crucial, and how this realization enriches our Christian life.
2. What Is Consecration and Why Do I Need to Consecrate Myself to God?
This post looks at the true meaning of consecration according to the Bible. Consecration isn’t just for a certain special category of people, nor is it a one-time event. It’s actually the basis for every spiritual experience in our Christian life.
One blog reader wrote to us about this post:
“I now have a better understanding of what consecration is and just how important it is. For a long time I have only thought of consecration as a ceremony or event that happens in the life of a person who is being ordained for a certain purpose: pastor, evangelist, etc. Now I understand that consecration is a way of life. That makes a huge difference.”
Read this post for a clear explanation of the meaning of consecration and four reasons why we should consecrate ourselves to God.

3. Three Greek Words for Life in the New Testament and How They Apply to Us
What does the word life in the New Testament truly mean? Actually, three Greek words for life are used in the New Testament—bios, psuche, and zoe—and each has a different meaning. Read this post to discover the important meaning of each one, particularly zoe.
4. Two Important Greek Words in the Bible: Logos and Rhema
To help us know and experience God’s Word in a deeper way, in this post we discuss the difference between two Greek words that refer to the Word of God—logos and rhema. Logos is used in reference to the written Word of God. Without the written Word, we would have no way of knowing who God is or what He wants. Rhema refers to God’s instant speaking to us in our personal situation. We discuss how we can experience God moment by moment by prayerfully reading His written Word (logos) and receiving His instant speaking to us (rhema) in our daily lives.
5. The Three Parts of Man—Spirit, Soul, and Body
We’re all unique, each of us having our own background and personality. But God created all of us human beings in the same way, with three basic parts: our spirit, our soul, and our body. This post looks at the different functions of these three parts and focuses on the importance of our spirit, our innermost part, created by God with the ability to contact, receive, and worship Him.
